Short at Any Age

Sample image

One of the obvious benefits of working out is firming up and feeling better because we look better and feel better about ourselves.

That can also mean feeling less self-conscience about our bodies and wearing more revealing clothing, like shorter skirts/dresses and short shorts. No problem right?

What about if you're over 40...50...or even 60? Is it still acceptable to wear short skirts, dresses or shorts - mid-thigh or shorter?

We have heard that "40 is the new 30 or even 20" and that "50 is the new 40." Women definitely appear more youthful than we did 20, 30, even 10 years ago. Call it vanity, pop culture influence or just more awareness of health issues and appearance, the line between dressing according to age has definitely been blurred. Mothers in their 40s are dressing like their 20 year old daughters.

Many think this is embarrassing and that women should dress age appropriate. Even some younger women think that older women should tone it down and stop trying to look "younger." (Let's see if they have the same opinions in another 20 years...). Older women who expose a little more leg feel that if I look good, why not show it off?

What do you think? Should there be be a cut-off age regardless of how awesome you look - that you should rein it in and dress "your age" or if you got it at any age, you should be proud and flaunt it?
